I would play Air Land battles (I have european escalation too but it is not installed) but i suck on the game, the units have like 1 litre of fuel.

Everyone was terrible when they first started playing Wargame - it's completly natural.
Also I don't understand your fuel problem because only a few units have a ridiculous amount of fuel (everything that has a 200 km operational range).
You can easily resupply them with supply trucks , too.

Always bring a pal that you can depend on to resupply your guys.
It helps when you're getting used to the game.
Don't try to psychic link it all, tell him when you need supplies cause it will help your own awareness of your troops.

the trucks are always destroyed midway to re-supply
