Author Topic: Think I just got a virus...  (Read 2235 times)

just system restore, my brother has had this 3 times and i've had to fix it for him, lol.

I had this a while ago. When the virus hit, a program which appeared to be some kind anti-virus software came up. It could clear out the virus for me, but it was only available to premium users.

Malewarebyted that stuff.

haha ransomwares are hilariously stupid

What currency did it ask for? Bitcoins?

Scan in safe mode with Malewarebytes

Pretty what everyone just said.

I wouldn't wait for the timer to reach 0, since you don't know if they would delete sys32 or something even worse (Like stealing all the files on your computer.)

So...yeah, safe mode -> Malwarebytes/Avast.

I have a virus like thing that I caught. It's called the flu

i am not satisfied by this post being in this thread

I had this. If you refused to not buy the software, the supposed virus activated, disabling multiple removal services, SUCH AS loving MALWAREBYTES, then changed everything, like the desktop to research images.

I showed that to my mom being myself 9, and she took a hammer and smashed the screen in, then called Dell for warranty.

Okay...so I followed your instructions and here are the results:

Reboot in safe mode = Still appears

Remove the file with CMD = unable to. The window blocks everything, including task manager.

Scan with malware = same as above.

Tried to fix it with my parents...now the computer doesn't even start...

And the solution:

BUY A NEW COMPUTER

Put the hard drive in another computer and scan the drive from there.

Safe Mode, then restore.

I just remembered how i fixed this for my brother

Start your PC up and when you login try your fastest to make a new user account before it appears again, it takes me a few tries but you should get it
