Author Topic: Cyberpunk 2077 - Ghost in the Shell + Deus Ex + Blade Runner, Oh My!  (Read 3904 times)

Synopsis

Humans can perform biological augmentations to strengthen or harm them to perform certain duties. Sometimes, these augmentations get out of hand and the augmentation completely destroys all biological data within their body, therefore causing the person, now dubbed a "psycho," to kill everything biological (meaning humans.) After this happens, a "psycho squad" must step in and take action to cure (read: kill/recruit) said psycho.

The trailer demonstrates a portion of this when the female they went in to cure was recruited to their force at the end. (NOTE: Everything stated above this is regarding the fundamentals of the card game and the new release)

Game Mechanics/Gameplay

Regarding the mechanics of the card game, Cyberpunk 2020, players can use augmentations to strengthen or harm them in order to advance in the game's skill-based RPG atmosphere. These augmentations will lower the Empathy of their character, representing their disconnections from their biological self and transcending to their augmented state. This will, in turn, create issues and advantages both, leading players to difficult decisions to make.

It can be safely assumed that its modernized child will be based upon the same factors and building blocks, however, CD Projekt RED (the developers) have stated that Cyberpunk 2077 will be a non-linear RPG rather than its card-based predecessor's approach.

still confused

so these people kill anything that lives, right? so why was the 'psycho' in the trailer just sitting there as a squad guy put a gun to her head? why did she not go on a rampage once they were in the car? why are there so many unanswered questions? why am i asking you all these questions?

I've no idea!
but that's the great wonder of it all, isn't it?
to see how it unravels?

where did you get info in op from

Could be interesting. Hopefully it's not a good storyline layered on top of generic gameplay.

Hnnng, I'm throwing money at the screen but nothing is happening.

I love cyberpunk when its done right. Good thing its being made by CDPR. They have yet to make a letdown game.

Slowmo teaser trailer four years before release.

You mechs may have copper wiring to re-route your fear of pain, but I've got nerves of steel.

Sounds like a lovey game.

The 70's called, they want their Leopard print suit back.
