Author Topic: How unpopular/infamous is Blockland?  (Read 5382 times)

well if blockland had like.... a free 30 day thing or something. like full access then the key gets locked till they buy the game.
it would be popular as forget. kids like free stuff. and they would beg parents to buy it later. but never likely to beg for money up front when they havnt really played it.
dumb kids cant grasp what demo versions of games are. they only know the limits that are in their face.

though i dunno how you would deal with temporary keys and people making new 30-day accounts every month.
Let them get attached to their saves and builds they made, and then end their trial and force them to buy the game to use their saves again.
Worked for other games.

The reason I didn't get Blockland in 2008 before I played roblox, is because my parents weren't willing to pay online. I had the money, they just didn't want to risk anything. Roblox having membership cards that you can buy at the store was a very good move.

A big reason why I don't play blockland more is because there aren't as many good servers. On roblox I know a dozen games that always have people if I want to play it. On bl there are only a few, and that's it. Not all the games are my type, but in roblox that doesn't matter much.

so youre saying we need more 12 yo's?

That will grow up to be...?

so I just finished reading the thread.
for anybody who skipped to the 4th page, here is a summary of the thread:

around 1/4 people on the thread want to keep the community smaller, so that it won't get the... "ROBLOX community", which to be honest I have to support that, somewhat considering I recently quit ROBLOX after playing for a few years.

the rest are either supporting a 30 day trial to get more people to buy the game, or just Badspot making a big effort to make blockland grow, or both for that matter. I have to say, I support both of them, more players = more servers = more chance of better servers.

anyways, even though I just got blockland the day before christmas, it's pretty clear that more players need to join, there aren't that many good servers, but there has been a increasing amount of them, so right now blockland just might need a slow steady growth of players, to the point where as they come they adapt to the community, instead of a flood of "dull stars".

People are worried about population of the game because of the chance of bad quality servers? Seriously?

Think about it: Garry's Mod has over 5 million players and there are a handful of servers that are deemed "good".

If you don't like a server, simply don't join it. I bet the bigger servers ran by veterans will run for as long as Blockland is in business.

any 10 year old can walk into walmart and buy a prepaid card to shop online with.

any 10 year old can walk into any grocery store on earth and buy a money order.

there is no excuse to not own something if you have the cash.

More players would make the game a ton more fun. Sure there might be more bad servers but there also will be more good servers. Not to mention good servers will get even more players for fun epic battles. Instead of a steady 30 people on a good server you could have a steady 50+

that would be pretty cool

My neighbor plays too much Roblox so I bought him BL and now hes hooked to it.

The only person I know who plays Blockland is one of my friends.

WRONG.
My dad got a 30 dollar a prepaid thing to put money on an Amazon account. Worked. Then when I tried to buy a key, it told me I needed to do it from a credit card, and not through gift card balance.

I wouldn't be going to the roblox forums to get my roleplaying fix if we had a decent forum roleplaying community.

More players, please.
Servers have gotten stale in my opinion and not much new has been happening.

Somehow I don't think this is a big aim for Blockland Community Expansion.

I've never cared for or against forum roleplaying, but I can see why it never takes off here.
Roleplaying forum games can be funny and silly for a little bit, but they soon get pathetic and just filled with innuendos, and not so-innuendos.
