Author Topic: Nasa needs more funding.  (Read 4425 times)

There's also Virgin Galactic.
And yeah,
NASA seems to be the only government entity that actually does more than they expect to do with what they have, and they do it consistently. Most things demand X amount of dollars and still need more. NASA takes what they get, build a rover they think will last 6 months, and get 6 years out of it.

Double posting the same thing woooo.
My iPod sometimes doesn't load the page after I hit post, so I hit it again and it double posts. Sorry

Tompson is so uninformed it isn't even funny
And here's where I ask why I am uninformed.

Well they said no to building a Death Star, why on earth would they want to fund research on space and things that could benefit the human race as a whole?

Nasa creates jobs, it also fuels scientific discovery. Why would you ever want to see something like that go away?
If it were privatized then it would have the capability to create more jobs and money.

If it doesn't that obviously means it isn't necessary. Going to space doesn't mean forget all if it isn't cost effective.

we already went to the moon anyways, what else is there to do

Or we could build a civilisation on Mars and create my dream of having the Red Faction series of games become reality.
Then the mining will really pay off.

Seriously though, I do think Nasa, and other Space Agencies have done incredible things and have really improved human technology and creativity and ingenuity in the sciences and many other ways.
I don't think those areas of research and funding are worth throwing away just to save money.

What I'm saying is that Private organizations are almost always more efficient than government programs, so the privatization of it could increase the amount of progress made.

Colonize Pluto and find the ancient alien temples holding the secrets to eternal youth as written by Morgan Freeman, fortunately he sought not to use eternal youth and is allowing himself to age.

mars colony.
space invaders in real life.
etc.

The economic return for NASA is something like 14:1.

There is NO LIFE in space. We should be exploring the ocean, there is an entire universe down there just waiting to be explored.
