I bought Crysis recently, and as usual, you need the disc to play it. I was wondering if there is a way play the game without the CD? No, Im not going to sell it straight away, it's just very inconvenient

It's still illegal to download any modified game from the internet iirc.

Make an ISO of the disc and then mount it to a virtual disk drive with software like Alcohol 52%

This doesn't work with all games, though; some are hardlocked to only run when the disc is in the physical disk drive.

No, CD cracks only work if you already have the game installed. It doesn't give the the game, just the means to start it without the disk. I don't see how that's illegal.

If the crack skips product activation, then it's definitely illegal. It may even be illegal to use a no-CD crack in general. I'm not sure.

Anyways:

Create an ISO from the disc with IMGBurn and mount it with VirtualCloneDrive

Did you buy it from Steam? It should come with a CD key.

If you have a legal copy, it's alright. But if he pirated the game and he lied, that would be illegal.

you can dl nocd cracks but im pretty sure thats illegal as most of them make it so they no longer require keys. or you could mount it using daemon tools or whatever but im not entirely sure if thats legal either.

If he owns the cd, and makes the iso himself, its legal as long as he doesnt upload it.
