It's packing some powerful specifications like an Intel i7 dual core processor and a high end Nvidia graphics card...

those won't last forever, if one is going to invest $1 - 1,2k (+ the keyboard, another $200) into a gaming computer you'd probably want something that can't be upgraded at all, right?

...doubles up as a convenient little tablet that you can carry around...

no it doesn't it has a 2 hour battery life, it's bigger and probably weighs a ton compared to the ipad, it's not something you'd like to hold up for hours on end playing video games.
maybe the short battery life is not a con after all

they don't mention physical specs or weight anywhere, it's that bad

also it doesn't seem to have a cd/dvd drive at all?

tablets in general are bad.

who wants to play on a freaking 8" tablet when you can easily build a gaming computer that can do the same thing but better with 1000 dollars?

I'd rather spend that 1000 bucks on a piston (that PC box thing) than this.

It's a tablet handicap.

It's a tablet handicap.

gaming tablet, how many gaming computers are missing a cd/dvd drive and have to rely on services like steam or windows 8 app store

the new adventure minesweeper is pretty good but it's not something you need a $1,2k piece of equipment for

and having no cellular capabilities makes this even less of a tablet

I'm noticing less and less CD-only releases for games.

like every single gaming computer, nobody really buys disks anymore

Buckley has a point.
I agree to an extent.
"This is innovative because it's a tablet with controllers in it!"

But the fact that it is only slightly bigger than an iPad and can run Skyrim-job is astonishing.
...and printers can create fully-functioning guns from plastic. (see: 3d printers)
this is no feat large enough to warrant such an outrageous price
