Why not just have an external web-based voice chat service on the side, with a link in the welcome message? Of course, it'd be optional.
The problem is, it won't be 3d. So if there's more than 15 voice chat users, their voices will overlap and oh the horror

There will be two types of chat, server and local, local is y'know ... Local, anybody near you will hear you. Server is simple too, anybody on the server will see it, it will have some sort of undecided distinction.

This was an idea too, I think I know someone who can do that for me. That will definitely be nice players only, people who listen in on the chat then go and hunt the people talking will get them banned.

High Damage, Low ammo.

Make every bullet count.

Make gunplay similar to games like Metro 2033/S.T.A.L.K.E.R.? Things like dirty ammo, military ammo, gradual gun deterioration, unreliable weaponry, etc. Also, I've been thinking of how a battle stress system would work. Things such as being consistantly shot at/Supressed by enemy fire, fired at by enemy you can't see yet, etc. and a bar/meter would fill up indicating stress/adrenaline generating from the player. On one hand, you'll be able to double-time it when sprinting and possibly higher yet temporary  higher damage resistance. On the other hand, accuracy will be decreased as you are unable to properly focus and steady your shots while reloading times will be unpredictable or just plain slowed down. The admins/super admins can have the military class whom can steady their accuracy/reload regularly when the Stress bar is high a bit better than others while still benefiting from the adrenaline boost of the system. Of course, that's OP, thus only alloted to the superadmins/admins.

and here's my argument for low damage, common ammo:
haven't any of you who've played DayZ hate how just one douchebag can ruin your hours of effort gathering weapons and building your inventory? I believe the majority of weapons should have low damage, but common ammo, while a select few (sniper rifles, revolvers, battle/military-grade rifles, etc) should be high-damage, rare ammo.
I don't believe in damage falloff (pretty unrealistic), but accuracy during firing should have multiple factors:
  • how soon the person just stopped moving/if he is moving (should have a ramp up to highest accuracy 2-4 seconds after stopping, rather than buffing accuracy the second someone stops moving)
  • if the person is crouched/sitting/stabilized weapon (like in BKT)
  • Person's health (obviously, and probably already planned)
  • Kickback (obviously; would be related to health; ie people with lower health can't resist kickback as easily as those at full health)

Other factors should come into play if possible; like having guns jam after being overused/being fired too quickly while moving, and having reload-time scale with the speed players are moving/crouching or not (try reloading a gun while running or lying prone without getting up).

Just my two cents.

Yes that's kind of what I meant, low tier guns won't do much, meaning pistols, shotguns (pellets), and lower end smg's (9mm, etc.). This is because their bullet size is very small, small caliber is weak power, bigger caliber is more power. A higher tier assault rifle will take around four to five, some sniper rifles being one to two, and two sniper rifles killing people at one.

Before any of you explode at me and complain about the one hit sniper rifles, the ammo will be intensely rare, and the gun too. Basically you'll be able to get like five shots, you'll have to aim well also, so it'll take a very good player to get make use of all his rounds.

But the nice thing about this is, since all guns are still relatively strong and there are headshots, you can sneak up on these people, and then kill them, so there won't always be a top player. All the stuff you mentioned we'll try to include, as it will affect players gameplay majorly. Movement will be very limited too, so people don't go crazy with jumping during combat.
