Depends. In places like Minnesota and Colorado, where it snows all the time, school is never closed for snow.

Places where it snows very little, the buses aren't equipped to safely drive on icy roads, so they have to cancel school.

im on unemployment for a month since work is slow in the winter so I kind of get school off :) I get paid to not do anything though.

It also costs alot more money to keep schools open during storms. Money that America doesn't have anymore.

people where i live don't even know how to turn corners on ice. they'll just stop, make a traffic jam, and sit there for a couple of hours. it drives my mom nuts since she grew up in wisconsin where no one really cared if there was ice or a foot of snow on the ground.
