*Rubs defibrillator paddles together* .. CLEAR!
"Enjoy your view while it lasts." I swoop down on a bomber from above at high speed, guns blazing. Within a few seconds the aircraft lights up like a torch, and is permanently put out of commission. "That's the last one in this flight. Thanks for keeping those bandits off my six, Wingkicker."
A furball has formed near to the edge of the valley, surrounding the remaining flights of bombers. I turn in its direction and increase power beyond the reheat threshold. Before long, I notice two Estovakian fighters flying in close formation straight towards me. Enemy F-16 signatures show up on my RWR, and I hear several loud beeps in the roosterpit. The missile approach warning siren sounds off, and in the distance I make out two smoke trails, both stemming from the element leader. I take my engines off afterburner. "Saber 1, defending Fox 3."
"Alright, here we go," I mutter under my breath. I instinctively tighten every muscle in my body to increase G tolerance and begin evasive maneuvering. I see the first missile cruising towards me, and I pull a hard turn and dispense countermeasures to throw it off. "That's one..." Not long after I trash the first missile, I find the second one headed in my direction. I turn and burn again, successfully dodging the second missile. "...Two missiles defeated, going on the offensive."
I execute a lead turn and wind up deep in the wingman's six, while the other fighter breaks off to start circling around. I do my best to quickly close in on the enemy and fire off a burst of cannon rounds. The starboard wing snaps in half, and the pilot ejects. "Splash one fighter." I turn my attention to the lead, who was already descending on me in a high slash. I turn into his attack to take away his lateral turning space, and he speeds past me in a steep dive. I immediately give chase and fire off a missile. Despite his best efforts to evade, the lead suffers a direct hit and goes down in flames. "Splash two!"
I level off and exhale heavily. After regaining my composure, I turn back towards the fight. "Alright, let's clean up."
