Modern House (Exterior only, it's wipish)

So I was on Cowboy6's epic house build, I'm not a usual Modern Day house builder, I like to make Medieval /  Fantasy type things.

I would like some constructive criticism. That means no "Omg dis thing suks quite bl!!!".

You may rate x/10. I know flowers and stuff = missing.

I'm not really afraid of flaming because I know for this being my only 4th modern day house this isn't that bad. Just want some tips and pointers. Also, before I get too far along in the Interior I want to make sure the exterior is good. And the exterior is WIP itself too.

make the roof overhang by 1 block, and the exterior is pretty bland and the colors make it seem like a log cabin mixed with suburban/urban house. it just seems odd to me

add some detail other than blank sloped walls sidings. most houses have periodic stone fancies around the garage or porch, not just the columns, but around the door and such. the windows also look weird that close to the corner of the wall, and inside it will probably look really weird. try also adding like a balcony or so, and maybe one area of the top floor jets out a block or so, it really adds depth to your build. also, try getting the second floor to not show on the outside, the brown plate, it makes houses look unrealistic. (blockland, realistic, lol)

I think it color might be better if it was different. Just try playing around with some color mixes. Now as far as the house goes, trying making it wider, it might give the house a small, really inclosed feel. Overall it's p good in my opinion.

Actually no, not at all.  I have only played minecraft 5 times total since I bought it last year.

I think you're using those ramp bricks incorrectly.

If you're going to use those tiles as the walls, use them properly, like this.



But I kinda like the house, other than the colors, the roof, and the wall tiles, the other stuff is fine.

What type of 'modern house' were you going for?

It seems more like an idea thrown on the table then cobbled together, and then it took the form of a more rustic half assed cabin. I would think you were going for a suburban type from the looks of it, but it just doesn't feel modern with the way you colored and built it.
