INFO
2070. Our world has changed. The sea’s rising level has harmed the coastal cities and climate change has made large stretches of land inhospitable.

The latest in the award-winning strategy series, Anno 2070 offers a new world full of challenges, where you will need to master resources, diplomacy and trade in the most comprehensive economic management system seen yet in the Anno series. Build your society of the future, colonize islands and create sprawling megacities with multitudes of buildings, vehicles and resources to manage. Engineer new production chains such as Robot Factories, Oil Refineries and Diamond Mines and trade with a variety of goods and commodities.

-A New Era. While adhering to the fundamentals that made the Anno franchise a success, the near-future setting will bring numerous new gameplay mechanics, architectural breakthroughs, and all new challenges. Additionally, players will be able to build massive cities, the scope of which has never been seen in prior Anno games.

-Become an architect of the future. Face the current world challenges to positively shape the world of tomorrow. Choose either an industrial and efficient course by joining the Tycoons or a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly direction by siding with the Ecos.

-An evolving, dynamic world. Decisions will have an impact on the environment, the architectural look of their world, and the needs of populations.

-Discover hidden depths and new resources. The depths of the sea in the sky are waiting to be discovered. Take advantage of the transport systems of the future and develop a powerful economy.

-The enhanced Anno with new features to master. Smuggle wares between harbors without being detected by the coastal patrols or forge alliances with powerful figures to expand your influence.

The Eden Initiative
-both adored and criticised for its progressive conception of the world. The Eden Initiative fights to retain the few remaining large nature reservations as well as for the careful administration of the oceans’ treasures. The organisation accomplishes a comprehensive supply in alternative energies and advances the investigation of the latest Green-Tech technologies. These technologies, although inefficient (except energy wise because they are very energy efficient), have minimal impact on the Ecobalance of an area and are far more sustainable in the long-run.
The Eden Initiative leader is Seamus Green, whom players can vote for to be World President. The spokeswoman for the Initiative is Yana Rodriguez.

-Supporters of the Initiative are called Ecos. They are in direct conflict with Global Trust over ideals, and the usage of the now vastly
reduced available resources.

Global Trust Inc.
-Global Trust Inc. is a powerful industrial syndicate; the most important energy supplier and employer worldwide. Based on never-ending capital and a remarkable energy monopoly, Global Trust has managed to claim important raw material deposits for themselves. Their main competitor is the Eden Initiative.
The leader of Global Trust is its CEO Skylar Banes, a candidate players can vote for to be World President. Rufus Thorne is the spokesperson for Global Trust. You can vote for him to be the Leader of the Senate.

Add-ons
-Anno 2070 - Deep Ocean is the first add-on for Anno 2070. It's the most extensive add-on ever made for an Anno game, including a new civilization level (the Geniuses) and the longest production chain in the history of Anno.

-The following product description was found on anno-game.ubi.com:
In the depth of the ocean, hidden in overgrown stones for years, the Techs unleash their ultimate power: the geothermal energy generation. The most powerful tool of the future forces the world of 2070 to expand their explorations into the deep blue sea, becoming the focus of gameplay, underwater plateaus setting offers new industries and large production chains and formerly unknown resources.

This succes elevates the Techs to a new level: The Genius population. They assert themselves even over the sea's surface. Impressive monuments, various new buildings, and recent demands strengthen their position.

Underwater exploration and exploitation will require you to take advantage of your environment mastering a brand new resource, using both diplomacy and trade as your most powerful weapons to make your civilization thrive in this hostile environment.

Bound to islands lost to the deep blue sea you will have to conquer remaining stretches of land, and dive underwater to create a futuristic submerged industry supporting your expanding economy.

To nurture your supremacy build new buildings, erect monuments, open power plants, exploit exclusive energy fonts, develop underwater trading routes... evolve, grow, and gain access to a new civilization development stage getting control of the advanced Genius population.

Even though evolution is at the very heart of the gameplay, don't underestimate your environment. You might be confronted to devastating natural disasters such as a tsunami which could tip the balance in your detriment!

-Reserved for players-

I've played a bit.  It's enjoyable, different from what I'm used to with simcity and all, but definitely enjoyable.

I played it a while ago. It's fun but extremely repetitive.

I haven't played this enough to really hit the "top" to the point where I begin to truly replay it, but I'm sure this could happen given the small island patterns, but eh.
