RELEASE IT OR I WILL KICK YOUR DOG!
(Doesn't everyone live the "buy it or I will kick your dog"?)

when it comes out i are be happy :D

To be honest I think changing the name would just result in confusion, and a lot of work on my part (which i am not up for). The name is just a name, it shouldn't have to reflect what the mod is about.

Changing the name is silly, sure. It may not be returning to blockland anymore, but that's what it's been called since the beginning and should stay, and no one wants a domain name change and redesigning everything and what not.

You can also have a cool slogan with RTB

"RTB - Returning you to blockland since 2005"

NAME SUGGESTIONS:

'Mocheese Made This'
'Making that 20$ last longer!'
'Ephilates did not Make This'
'Making Add-Ons incompatiable since 2005'
'Return to Blockland Retail'
'This is proof that Mocheese is better than Badspot'
'Mocheese Pwnz'
'I did this for the lulz'
'Lulz'
':cookie:'

Will rtb retail be available for macintosh? I have windows and mac working with blockland, and i would like rtb retail for both  :panda:

I lol'd.

Firstly, changing the name is a good idea since it gets the 0002 noobs of your back and will allow you to redefine what the mod is. The mods name should atleast somewhat reflect the content of the mod.

Secondly, making that change would not be that hard. Get a new domain name....not that difficult depending on new title chosen. Changing site image for title....what..maybe 5 minutes?

I guess the real question is...." why be lazy when you can achieve more at little cost? "

You're missing the whole point, read my whole post and stop being ignorant. Changing the name will result in all sorts of confusion, all our advertising and links to us on other websites and forums would be lost, we'd have to resubmit to searchengines. Mocheeze would have to re-design all the logos, we'd have to change all the instances of Return to Blockland on the wiki, the website would need all the text changed on it, all the ingame stuff i've been working on would need to be changed. Its just not worth the hastle to change the name!

Plus people will be like "where has RTB gone, we want RTB back not this new thing!!" and i'm not correcting everyone who gets confused. The name will be staying as Return to Blockland.

Finally, the name doesn't have to reflect what its about. How could someone know Microsoft makes windows XP if they'd never heard of the company before? If RTB was actually called Somecrap then you wouldn't be complaining if it moved to retail. Just think of the name as a brand name only, and not an indication of its contents.

This is sweet. I want to see more. :-(

RTB needs to have a better brick selection thing i think cause its like your cycling through the bricks and you go past the one you want, you try again, and again and ect =/also the editor wand GUI needs to make more sense instead of loads of panels where you enter the X Y and Z dimentions of how you wish to edit
should be more like W (for width) L (for length) and H (for height)

still i like the add-on thing, Retail could do with having it =P keep up the good work

You win. I forgot about the Wiki.

I of course don't have anything to do with the development of RTB, but here are my thoughts:

The original RTB was all about fixing the problems in v2 and doing what had to be done to make the game better.  The brick selection system and editor wand were necessary hacks to get around problems in v2.  Now that those problems are fixed in retail, the editor wand and RTB selection style will likely never return.

What is a problem in retail is the disorganized state of add-ons.  We've talked it over and I think that keeping each add-on in it's own zip file is the best way to keep things organized and idiot proof.  At some point I want to move all of the add-ons over to zips officially, but my time is limited and I think it's great that the rtb folks want to take initiative on this.

So, this time around RTB is more of a clean-up crew rather than last being a repair team? Makes sense.

I look forward to seeing the integration of the mods and the website and all those other cool features you guys have shown us.
