VCE? Default? HELL no.
You can crash a player with two event lines.
Really? What events?

Really? What events?

Deletes the player's datablock or something.

If it could be fixed (somehow) to keep people from trying to abuse it, while keeping most (if not all) of it's features, then I would say yes.
But for now, sorry, but I will have to say no to this idea.

/disagree

its a good addon but can easily be abuse-able

you can easily say "everything is abuse-able" but default game functions should not be abuse-able

People might not like your idea because of the version updating process sometimes inferiors with the mod.

I personally love VCE, so I would agree.

I don't want it to be default. It's...just not something that should be default, in my opinion.

If setting health uses setDamageLevel, that would just leave the client controlling a player in the "disabled" state, not deleting anything. Although yes, controlling a disabled player will cause your view to mess up since they have no POV.

Also, deleting the player's datablock would just cause a disconnect (ghost packet error) for everyone that had ghosted the player.

And this is why I dont use VCE, because I dont code.
I have no idea what those event lines mean, all I know about them is that they make the player crash.
To me, VCE is a horrible jumble of uselessness.

VCE is buggy as hell and should be updated. It needs constant care which it can't get if it was default.

and thats exactly why bot events where failed and added to the CRC/Crap ons list,
Well no, it was actually failed because it had a bunch of syntax errors. The slightly revised version posted by Brian still works fine.

Actually that just creates a new variable called "health" and sets it to -1. Then it creates a new variable called "-1" and sets it to "health." It actually doesn't do anything at that point as far as I can tell.

Although I enjoy using variables and consider them one of my favorite addons, It can also be used in very negative ways.

Did you really have to post that? Now someone can just read this thread and do that.
And yes I have seen people do this and it works.

You can even control other peoples clients with VCE, I'm surprised Badspot hasn't failed it considering the ridiculous amount of exploit that it could be used in.

Its happened to me before at a freebuild server that had VCE.

Hey, I was called out on it by Greek2me.
I'm guessing he thought I was bluffing.

you can control players without VCE (not talk as them but move them and stuff)

anyway i voted no, i just don't think VCE is something that should really be default
it'd confuse newer people and it is somewhat exploitable(but that doesn't mean it should never ever be used)

1. The second line is useless
2. Player, not datablock
3. Doesn't crash anything
