Author Topic: Flashlight model  (Read 1987 times)

Anyone know that old flashlight addon? Well it uses a black printer model, and I don't see anyone else making a flashlight with a nice beam like it has, so I should quite like someone to make a model for use with this addon.
Probably a design similar to this so that the hand position can stay the same and nothing would need to be changed.

Neither of those are what he described, IMO.

The first link he posted is the version two of the flashlight add on OP was talking about. It even has the model OP wants.

Yeah I had forgotten about the second one.
It'll work but the model doesn't really look like a flashlight. I'm sure it could be better.
But unless anyone makes a better one it'll do.

Edit: so I tried the other one, and it seems kind of weird and buggy, the beam will stick to blocks for a while and not flow nicely. So could someone tell me how to use the model in the old weapon_flashlight?

It seems you use a slow moving projectile for your flashlight to work. If I fire it quickly, I can watch as the light slowly travels down the hallway. I was hoping this was a ray cast with a light on the end of it, but no. Its about the same as what I made only with a slower projectile.

Also, the amount of lights each projectile makes hits the light cap really fast. The light trail only goes 1/5th of distance the projectile themselves go. You need to slow the fire rate, but this method will screw up all other brick lights no matter what you do.

A quote from me from that linked flashlight.
That flashlight is terrible.

A remake would be nice.

It would also be cool if the beam changed color to that of your paintcan, so you could have a red light etc. Could be used for camping rps, and movies.
