Author Topic: Ragdolls - How it could be done  (Read 1172 times)

I would love to see ragdolls in Blockland sadly it isn't possibl-
Wait, I think I have a way to do this. When a player dies, colored multiple .dts shapes of each player part appear, and
oh god this is so hard to explain
the .dts models will move together, and it will look like a ragdoll of the player. Not sure how the head model will get the face though :c

I saw something in the Blockland files called .dsq. Maybe if that is modified, ragdolls may be possible.

There's a topic right below this that has the same idea as you.

a .dsq is an animation file for torque
If you modify them, you can change the walking/crouching etc

What if the bodies become basically broken bricks? Maybe if bricks can be somehow bound together then it could make a nice ragdoll.

I always imagined it would be like in the Lego games, where the minifig just falls apart.

I doubt this is possible, it's very far-fetched - but I always imagined you could use those minifig parts siba made - and when a player dies, just spawn them - colored correctly - at the player and hide all their nodes on their dead body. It would simulate that they just fell apart, and other players could kick around the parts before they disappear for a few seconds afterwards.

I was thinking more on the base of projectiles

Aha! Create siba's minifig part bricks where the player is, then immediately fake-kill them!

too bad you cant dynamically colorshift debris thanks to blockland's stuffty datablock system.
