Why would you even want a remade PS1? I mean, a Playstation 4 with full backwards compatibility for PS1 would be cool, but why would you remake an old system? It wouldn't even make much money from the super nostalgia crowd, who probably still have their PS1's

It's official: PS1 re-release with support for Friendster!  The midi player also looks to be jammin'!

but the first psp already outclassed the ps1, and supported many ps1 games and roms.
they wouldnt re-re-re-release it. theres no more money to be made that the ps network cant already download old games.
