Neither do animals once they're dead. They only have to live once and its only for a few years at most.
Once they're dead they don't feel it anymore, but while theyre living they do. A lot of scientists argue that plants can feel emotions, I don't know if I necessarily agree with them but even if this is true, they don't feel it
as much as animals do. They dont have a brain like many animals do, which clearly shows they perceive their surroundings differently. I'm not trying to force my "views" on people, I just don't think it's absolutely correct to say that plants are as sentient and soulful as animals. Haven't you ever seen an animal cower in fear? You bring a cat close to a pool or a bathtub and it freaks out (unless its one of those weird swimmy cats). Plants aren't as intelligent as most animals, and most animals aren't as intelligent as humans. I guess you can interpret this all however you like.
