As reported over on Wired.com and confirmed via Twitter by GTTV's Geoff Keighley (as seen above), the 2013 DICE Summit opening presentation entitled "Storytelling Across Platforms" closed out with a surprise announcement as Valve's Gabe Newell stated that “We’re going to figure out if we can make a Portal movie or Half-Life movie together" when referring to J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot production studio. In addition, Abrams stated that “There’s an idea we have for a game that we’d like to work with Valve on."
it will suck most likely, not that he is a bad director but just that game movies
Not likely if it's Half Life(hopefully along the lines of half-life 2) Someone already tried to make a Half life 2 movie, it was pretty good but, the "producers" gave up on the project.
eh, still, im not sure about it becoming a big picture. [inb4someonegetsthejoke]
I don't see how a half-life movie could be successful with a silent protagonist and giving him a voice would cause an explosion of infinite rage
Gordon Freeman wouldn't have to be the main protagonist. It can still take place in the Half Life universe, but have a completely different main character.
