I don't see any problem with making textures read-only. It's not like they could break anything.
But if your textures look all messed up after an update you know what causes it.
That's exactly what I meant.

There is no reason something bad should happen though, unless Badspot makes a big change to the game, where it uses textures differently.

Errr no, you have to make your textures read only in order for them to work, otherwise hen you start up blockland they will be overwritten. Badspot has never, nor will ever, ban for setting textures as "read only."

That's a fundamental part of blockland, being able to customize it. However, you can't modify the actual base of blockland, as that will get you banned.

so yeah anyway

this guy hasn't been very helpful this far (I asked for the textures:
You can wait until v21, because then the default textures won't even be a problem anymore.
but maybe he has changed his mind, I don't know

The default textures are still a problem because they mess up pitch black bricks and look ugly

Yes, that's what I said on the previous page...

What exactly does setting things to read-only do?

What exactly does setting things to read-only do?
it makes the launcher not replace them with the default stuff

Well I know that, but I mean why does it do that?
What exactly does read-only mean?
