I always play Cave Story, it's just my favorite indie game. It's graphics are just... ASTOUNDING, and the art is amazing. The gameplay is simple, just pick up and play... it also makes you think, and look around your environment. Also, the boss battles always get my blood pumping, it's just... the ultimate indie game for me.

i don't think we should be dividing games into indie/not indie because somehow giving your money to a small  group of greedy people is different from giving money to a large group of greedy people

Genres in video games are somewhat different than other forms of art because they are very seldom based on theme, style, tone, or audience as in film or literature. Instead most video game genres are based on the way in which the player interacts with the game.
