$100 at least for an okay electric as long as you take good care of it. If you can't afford that then get like a shotgun for less or something.

Works for me honestly, I usually don't play with people who use 100+ dollared guns so I never do worry about my gun being under powered.

anything less than $80(depending on the brand) is pretty much stuff. Even me, a recreational user, didn't settle for anything cheaper than $100 for my first AEG

anyway I just recently got a KWA M9 PTP(high-end handguns, I'm a big boy now), and I'm currently upgrading my crappy JG G36c-- I hate putting gear boxes back together :(

Love Airsoft, here is all my guns (will get pics later)

Electric AK-47 Tactical (400 FPS, Fully metal, 150 BB's per mag = $200) < Reallllyyy nice performance.

Spring powered MB09 Airsoft sniper (450 FPS, Metal / plastic, 20 BB's per mag, came with a Bi - pod and a scope... = $100)

Fully metal blow back gas powered Colt 1991 hand gun (200 FPS, All metal, 30 BB's per mag, gun can be disassembled and put back together = $60)

Electric M4A1 (230 FPS, Plastic, 75 BB's per mag, red dot sight, laser sight and suppressor.... = $79)

Hand grenade (Shoots 50 BB's out, hurts if your within 3 feet, otherwise feels like being shot by a 100 fps pistol from up close)

Spring Powered K-2 (205 FPS, 30 BB's per mag, Red Dot sight and a 2nd mag = $30)

I have another, but I can't remember what it is.

This is usually what I go out with when I feel like participating in Airsoft events, even though they're all spring-powered, & the M4A1 tends to jam.

But the shotgun burst makes people fear me, hehehe~
