Author Topic: Need help explaining this illusion GIF.  (Read 807 times)

I saw this in Kevso's profile page. Can someone tell me if this illusion is real (as in there are no regularly colored frames in the image) or did the creators just insert colored images into the .gif?

No, it's not a jump scare.

Have you actually tried not looking at the dot?
Jeez.

Just to confirm for you, it is a real illusion.

it's fake. obviously.

no, i think it's real, sorry. i didn't look at the dot, and the color wasn't there.

Its a Jedi mind trick

Can someone tell me if this illusion is real

It is, I don't know how it works though. Something like the eye retains color after the negative image flashes away. The color only disappears if you move your eyes.

Try it. Stare at the dot for as long as you can after it flashes, the color will stay. There are no frames with correct color.

There is no colored frame.

Why the jumpscare! D:
It ain't no jump scare, you big silly.

This is actually really cool, it's what your mind processes within a few seconds.

Why the jumpscare! D:

Well, I guess the image changing colors a tiny bit can be considered jumpscares for verrrrrry nervous and jumpy people...

Pretty much anyone who thinks its fake is an idiot. If you think there's a color frame then open it in gimp and look at the frames. Or you could just believe me when I say, The only two images, Beside the loading bar, are an invented picture and the black and white version of it.

It's real, The brain fills it back in but un-inverted, Because science.
