There's no reason that it should be made fun of, though.
Everything gets criticized and made fun, it is part of live. You just need to learn how to not be bothered by others comments. I'm a not a tall person, but I don't let harassment from people who are taller than me weigh me down.
There is this thig I call the Honey Bee effect. I call this because if a bee lands on you and ignore it it will fly away and never come back, however trying to brush it off will put you at risk of getting stung. Killing a bee attracts more bees. Anyway it goes like this: If you out doing what you do and come across someone who doesn't like you. You two will most likely fight or walk away. If engage can your criticizer(sting) you will lock yourself into a fight with the opposition and then he will responde back. Then some of your fellow comrades will join in and his. Suddenly you have a large debate going on. To avoid this you just ignore the comments and replies that could errupt into a debate. Go ahead and fight, but people aren't so easily persauded.
Also what I hate about these anti bullying things is that they are there to give one side an advantage over the other. It's a misquito invading your personal space and you can't kill it because you would hurt its feelings. Terrible anology I know.
