Author Topic: Some ideas for the environment of the game  (Read 1845 times)

Clouds that moves with the sun on Daycycle or without it, and they could be faster or slower too.
Edit: Ambient sounds, blockland lacks that, we all know that sounds for ambient gives more life to the game, and we could choose which sounds we want on the Environment settings, also they could get quieter if you get inside a closed build, like a house for example
Waves that you could change the level of it, like you could choose if you want a very calm sea or tsunamis.
Underwater effects, such as bubbles snd stuff.
Bloom effect, for example, your inside of a dark dave and you see an exit which is very bright and then it goes back to normal when you get out of the cave
Wind, you could change the direction and the force of it, and if it's too strong it could push you if you jump, also the emitters could be affected and it could have a wind ambient sound, oh and you could make it visible if for example your in the middle of the desert and you could see a sand wind

I think that this can easily be done and it would be neat if someone made it. /support

I'd like to be able to change the cloud texture and the game should have more cloud textures

I don't think the clouds even have textures, I thought they were just a color. Reply back to this post if anyone can prove me wrong.

Added new suggestions
Nice new suggestions, I like all of the ideas. :)

If i'm not mistaken, this is the cloud texture Blockland had pre-Shadows and Shaders update

But post-Shadows and Shaders update, i thought Slate Storm used the above texture, but apparently it uses three new cloud textures

Also, there are atmosphere parameters for clouds
Code: [Select]
$Sky::cloudHeight0 0.6
$Sky::cloudHeight1 0.3
$Sky::cloudHeight2 0.4
$Sky::cloudSpeed0 0.003
$Sky::cloudSpeed1 0.001
$Sky::cloudSpeed2 0.0001

There's probably one for the texture, but if there are atmosphere parameters for clouds, why isn't there any way to change them in the Evnironments menu? :(

Isn't there a mod that lets you play music on the player or maybe a mod that plays music to all players?

I guess you could edit this to include all clients on the server: http://forum.returntoblockland.com/dlm/viewFile.php?id=3024

The clouds are defined in the last three rows of the DML file.

Yeah, but those are restricted, i was thinking of a way to use cloud textures in a way that the Environments menu could be updated to change the cloud texture

No it requires a client-sided mod
