Oh excuse me, i just happened to see the title "Grand Theft Auto" on them. They're probably not "Grand Theft Auto" games then.
What the forget? They're Grand Theft Auto games, but not part of the main series that Rockstar North develops and releases.
If the story determines whats a side game, San Andreas, Vice City and GTA 3 are sidegames because Rockstar has said that the newer HD GTA's happen in a different universe when they were asked will they make contact with CJ in GTA 5.
That's not at all what I was saying. Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories have a little bit of relevance to the main series of the 3D Universe, I'll agree on that. But they're still side-games.
Rockstar North is the main developer for the GTA series. They developed III, VC, and SA - which is commonly sold as the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy.
Vice City Stories and Liberty City Stories were developed and released after all those, mainly by Rockstar Leeds. They were released on the PSP, unlike the main series on the PS2/Xbox. They were then ported to the PS2 though roughly around six months later.
Grand Theft Auto Advanced wasn't even developed by Rockstar, and has nothing to do with GTA III even though it's in Liberty City.
Chinatown Wars was again, developed by Rockstar Leeds with some resources from North. It was developed for handheld systems, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the main series of the HD Universe - IV, TLAD, and TBoGT.
