Author Topic: Why do some people choose to not let mobile users watch youtube videos?  (Read 2455 times)

seriously? why do that?
besides restricting your views, it does absolutely nothing
you even have to go out of your way to do it
of course, this wouldn't be a problem if it weren't an option in the first place
but why on earth would you do it ffs
WHY IS IT AN OPTION

ok well that's all, I just lost my patience over this issue a few minutes ago and wanted to say something

How could viewing it on a mobile device affect copyright?

I wonder the same thing....

I don't think there is an option to disable youtube users on a phone watching your videos.
Not sure though

I'd imagine it has something to do with the size of the videos, that way you wouldn't waste all your data on it.

If that isn't the case then I would like to know what it it's.

it deals with video resolution. when i upload a video at 1920x1080 its unwatchable by mobile devices. 1280x720 or lower is watchable on a mobile device.

lol iphone users.

on my droid, youtube dosnt even know im mobile. cuz im not pathetic and can use the real web.

It shouldn't use the message "The owner has made this video not viewable on mobile" or whatever it was to "The size of this video is too large to watch on mobile" or "This video cannot be displayed on mobile due to copyright reasons"

You silly gooses
For some reason, there are less adverts on Mobile YouTube than PC YouTube. They choose for people to not be able to watch the videos on Mobile so that they are forced to watch it on PC, making that person more money

This is why I don't like apple. All apple stuff does this. Well including my iPad

Ugh why do all of these Youtubers only care about the money?

what are you talking about
there are multiple quality settings

just to name an example, the Android YouTube app automatically chooses the highest displayable resolution for HD and 360p/480p(whichever is best fitting?) for SD

because theyre friends
