Author Topic: Max Payne 3 seems dead on the 360...  (Read 915 times)

I'm currently replaying this game and it's bringing back memories of how entertaining the multi-player was. But last time i got on the game to search for a match with my friends, it was dead. I think there was only a few hundred people playing. I'm just wondering if you guys have noticed the same thing or have actually found a decent match here and there.

its also really sad because it was a wonderful game

Same here on the PS3.

I played the story a few times, then got into the multiplayer. It astounds me how many people buy a game just for the multiplayer aspect.

I wish Rockstar didn't make Payne Killer into a multiplayer only gamemode. It was nice in Max Payne 2. But yeah, this game was amazing and I'm disappointed a lot of people don't play it.

The single player was  amazing. I also feel like the multi player was well built. Sure there was some op weapons and everything. But i loved fighting rival crews and the bullet time worked really well.

Multiplayer was so badass. It was so fun to run across a rooftop and bullet-dodge off the roof.

The slow motion kicks in, you take a few more steps before completely diving off the roof. You see your friends in a struggle with the opposing team, the bullets slowly flying through the air. You fly through the air, unloading on the enemy team. Soon you begin to descend towards the ground, your body twisting and turning in the air as you panic, holding down the trigger, hoping to land a few more headshots on the enemies. Then your body smacks against the ground, time resumes to it's normal pace. You quickly get up, firing off a few shots while you slide into cover.

God damn just doing the most ridiculous, badass stuff was so fun. I miss it so much.

Isn't that a fairly new game
Why is it dead :c

when i played drake's deception on ps3 multiplayer, that was enough to realize how bad third person multiplayer shooters are. the only fun ones are grand theft auto games, and that's because they don't add a bunch of ridiculous combat moves, and even then, the only way you can kill somebody in a third person shooter is by blindy shooting until they're dead, because aiming is terrible in third person, and auto aim, like in gta, is so stupid.

played the pc mp for awhile but it just didnt grab hold of me enough

I can definitely see what you're getting at. Yeah, aiming in third person can be quite the hassle. And i really didn't like auto aim, Soft lock is tolerable, but i couldn't stand people just instantly locking onto me and just holding the trigger. Max Payne's combat really was different than most other third person shooters. I don't know what it was but it felt right. Unlike most other third person shooters where you really do just spray and pray.
