Author Topic: Where can i get halo sound effects?  (Read 4202 times)

When i use that HMT thing to get those gun fire things, i put them in the game, but they don't turn out right, i edit them in audacity, that come out as a fast screech noise, it doesn't work right for some reason, so does anyone know where i can get some Halo sounds for my mod i'm working on?

You could run audacity in the background, change the recording method to record from the sound card, start a 1 player online game, pick a map with a lot of weapon variation, and then fire them for the weapon sound effects.

I would test it, but I uninstalled Halo from my computer. It should work though, I've used it to get sounds from other games. The only problem I've had is with C&C 95, the game has crashed every time I've tried it. But it doesn't run very well on my computer.

It should work fine. Good luck.

Hmm, i go to Edit, then Preferences, and i click Device in Recording, and nothing appears, why is that?

If you look for the drop down box I have selected, and click What U Hear (also called Wave Out Mix in some versions) and then press the record button, it will record your speaker output. Just be careful you aren't running any chat programs while you do it, I've ruined some recordings because someone came online while I was recording.

What the, i can't click it, why is that?

Bump and on this XP PC, i can click it and use Wave Out Mix, but not on the Vista PC @~@

What version of Audacity you using Wedge? I don't even have that section, I'm on 1.3.3.

1.3.3 Doesn't have that bar apparently, but 1.2.6 does, but i can't click that bar :S

How do i check what version i got? I wanna see what version i gave the XP PC

I'm using 1.2.4, which uses the text What U Hear, my brother uses 1.2.6, which uses the text Wave Out Mix.

Click the Help button, and then click About Audacity... to check your version.

I use 1.2.6, but i can't click the bar for some reason

Click View and look for something that says either Dock or Float Mixer Toolbar.

I clicked it, but nothing happened/changed

It should be showing Microphone, Wave Out Mix/What U Hear, and others, but none of them appear D:

This is why you don't mess with your user interface between versions....

Sorry I can't help you cos the pulldown menu works for me.
