so a little while ago I looked on the TES website, and found out that both Arena and Daggerfall are free
which is something I'm totally interested in
but you need to have a DOS emulator
so that brings me to my first question: what should I use?
I'm considering DOSBox, bc it's open-source (and free), so that's cool, but is it any good?
it seems like it is, but I'd rather be sure
my second question is about morrowind
I want it, but I'm not sure if I could play it with my laptop
I can run UT2004 with the highest settings for everything, but while that's not saying much, morrowind was released two years earlier
so, would you say it's likely that I'd be able to play morrowind on it?
I exceed all of the required specs, so I'm not sure why I'm even asking
the third is also about morrowind, but instead, about its compatibility
I have windows 7
this is barely a real question though, since experience has led me to believe that nearly anything that works on XP will also work on 7
if I had to, I'd get it for my xbox 360 instead, but besides the fact that I feel weird playing original xbox games on a 360, I'm hoping to have the ability to use mods if I decide to
ok, so I've already got arena pretty much working, and daggerfall too, soon
but my other question:
where should I get morrowind?
I considered Gamestop's PC downloads thing, but one of the reviews for the game says that it doesn't allow you to use the console, or install mods, etc.
which would really put me off
so, is that true, or what?
in any case, I'd still rather use some other service, because Gamestop requires you to download their program too
actually, I just found it on steam. but still, if I can't convince my mom to buy it on that (which I may not be able to), is there another good option?
