I can have fun with a stick of wood and a pile of mud but that doesn't mean I would pay 15 dollars to play goopstick.
Save your money and buy a different game.

I wish I hadn't bought this now, too.

I think the only reason I bought it was that it was a space exploration game that looked close to Terraria, and compared to some other games I've seen in the genre like Star Citizen, No Man's Sky, and Elite: Dangerous, this is bad.

But hey, this game is out in our hands. Sure, it's buggy and grindy as hell, but it's out.

it's pretty boring anyways tbh

i played for about 16 hours and all i really did was explore planets and the buildings on them.
after that, i realized that even if i were to go to new planets, i'd find the same kind of randomly generated stuff so i just quit.

terraria is much more fun because it has like, an actual structure. it's not 100% randomly generated.

I still think it's fun, Nightly is much better then the old version, Ores are too hard to find though.

And I'm not the kind of person who goes THIS GAME IS AWFUL I SPENT £10 ON IT AND ONLY GOT 60+ HOURS OF PLAYTIME.

You can very much see the progress they're making on nightly, Today it has bug catching. (for some reason)

I only got 30 hours when I played, but that is definitely enough for me to say it was worth the $15

Yeah, I expected it to be like that when I bought it in a early-access state. I figure it'll be more fun when done, but it is definitely getting fun pretty quickly in the nightly updates. Still needs A LOT of work, but I like the premise and that they're posting updates constantly now to show the community about it.

Happy Anniversary!

A year ago today, we launched Starbound on Steam Early Access to more love and support than we could ever have anticipated.

Starbound’s development has had its ups and downs (as all game development cycles do!), but we’ve been able to work far more efficiently together since settling into our little office space. We’ve been super hard at work on a very large update that changes and expands upon the progression system and it’s nearly ready for unstable.

If you’ve been keeping track of our updates and the nightly build, you’ll have seen just how much has changed since the last stable update. If not, never fear! In lieu of 10+ pages of text outlining all the changes, we’ll be posting a trailer next week highlighting all the biggest features we’ve added to the game. In the meantime, Katzeus at Starbounder has neatly summarized most of the changes here.

We really can’t thank you enough for your continued patience, feedback, supportive messages and contributions to the community. :) I know a lot of you have been waiting aaaages for a stable update before diving back into the game, but I think you’ll find the wait worth it. :D

So, expect a new trailer showing off what's been created during this stage in the nightly development, and look forward to the next update coming fairly soon.

I guess its technically my OC's Birthday too since I bought the game and made him the first day it came out
yaaaaaaaaaaay happy birthday

Hopefully it's a bit more active after this update

Well, I was wrong to think that they weren't doing anything. After seeing that Wiki page, I'm... hyped.

Huh.

I don't think many people payed attention to the blog.

a friend bought the game for me and i've spent a little over 200 hours playing it. i think it was well worth the money, but none of my friends think the same way apparently. i've been wanting to play it but the server crashed when we tried playing and it wiped our server homeworld and everything we had stored/built there (which was a stuffton), so we quit and started playing terraria again. i've pretty much given up hope on ever playing this gave with my friends again, update or no update to mods or otherwise.

I just make new characters every once in a while and see if I enjoy playing as them
I made a copy of my first character, and just today I figured out that there was one of those miniature underground house complexes on my homeworld. This means that I have easy access to a vast quantity of soft bricks, and I LOVE soft bricks.
