They're about as creative as all the others.

alright they're not that creative but you still can't compare them to the other six. the others are creatures based off very common things such as fish, plants, robots, etc. this one is a solar being. it's not too creative but it sure as hell is more creative than the other six and i would choose novakids over the other six races anyday.

but it's still really sad that random users on the starbound forum can come up with ideas for races that are SO MUCH BETTER than the developer's ideas

To be fair all of the things you listed can be described as common seeing as how there are trillions of stars in our galaxy alone, then trillions of galaxies in the universe so...
And to be honest almost all of the races don't feel original, but to be fair you'd be hard pressed to do something creative with alien races that hasn't been done before.

kinda disappointed how i've realized the hard truth and the novakid hype is gone for me now but also relieved because now i won't deceive myself anymore into thinking they're actually creative.
