i dont think you can just change the file extention like presto it's done kind of way.
i used Maestro (at one point) for Piano Man (billy joel 4 ever) but i had to export it as a .abc after downloading the MIDI file from elsewhere.
the song worked but all the notes were horribly out of time, not sure how to fix it and i haven't tried much since.

I think I read somewhere that they aren't coming until Stage 3 beta.

I'm not entirely sure though so don't quote me on it.
