Anyhow, trying to figure out exactly how I'm going to make it nice. I currently have 8 guard spawners, 16 apex spawners, and 1 tool merchant spawner, so I'm saving those until I get everything set up for them. I'm going to probably end up having living quarters for all of them

It's underground
I doubt that they'll get out.
I'll close off the way down, and I can make a combination lock door at the top if I really need to.

I've walled in NPCs any way I could imagine. It's never stopped them from suddenly not existing, except the one in my Floran's ship.

hm, that's quite odd.
I do hope that doesn't happen when I set it up. Maybe I'll just build my base and leave it empty until later updates.

pretty low on resources, but getting soft stone bricks and light metal is really tedious and difficult

You can craft lightmetal after you get the portable printer. but as for lightstone, you're going to have to raid avian towns.

The stone bricks can be obtained from avian towns or from underground miniature house biomes, but I haven't found any of those recently.
