Well, a majority of the games are FPS

Well that's because that's what the people are buying. CoD is one of the largest franchises right now, and people continue to buy the games, and therefore the games are made over and over again. It's simply how the games industry works.

in my opinion, people are just simulating combat

If we're talking about FPS games then it's a fact. And to be fair, you can't run around gunning people down in real life, at least not without consequences. And if you're slamming on games that simulate combat in general, then I will have to raise a point that most people find it fun to run up to a guy and blow his legs off with a shotgun. Or to run about slaying demons. Or to lead an army into victory.

I miss games with more originality.

Might wanna look at indie games, there are some neat games that don't involve shooting people in the face.

Okay, maybe you're right, Call of Duty isn't the only one, more of the point I want to make is the point of the game, you basically run around and shoot things, name a game that's globally liked that doesn't involve combat.

To be fair, a game being "globally liked" implies that everybody who's old enough to form an opinion enjoys the game which is impossible because at least one person will disagree.

that's because shooting stuff is fun. what do you want, burger king simulators? go play cooking mama or some stuff.
No, it's the fact that that's all there is, violence added to more violence, I want more diversity in games, seriously, does someone have to be chainsawed in half for someone to have fun?

Portal had no violence
Anti chamber has no violence

Violence =/= gore.

And that's why these games are labeled as M.

Alot of nintendo games include violence with 0 gore. Go check them out.

no, are you really this dumb? that is not every game ever, that is every fps game. why? because that's what fps games are loving supposed to be, they have the word "shooter" in their name. go play a different genre of game  if you are really so hurt by pixels changing colors.

Okay, you don't need to be so aggressive, I wanted this to be a civilized conversation, it's the fact that these same games get so much attention and most of them are combat related, even the damn Lego games have combat and they're Lego. Not to mention most of them make a lot of people more prone to be aggressive and irritable.

No shut up this is stupid and has been proven wrong by like eight studies already. Show me a source and if it's Fox News I will introduce a new kind of violence based on my foot up your ass.

If you want this to be a civilized conversation, why were you acting like an starfish? And why the assumption that they make people aggressive?

No, it's very real, not for everyone, but it's real, look at all the studies that have proven it correct, it is very influential.

Plus, we have a new topic so I am going to lock this.
