Author Topic: Captial punishment, good or bad?  (Read 13909 times)

Why would you imprison them for killing people, it's only fair to kill them infringing of the victims. It also gives closure

I'm not seeing how imprisonment is vengeance. We imprison them to prevent them from causing more harm to others.
I agree, this was the original function of a prison.

What about escape.
What do you mean?

What if they escape the area, and commit more murders?

They won't, because we will take every convict in for 2+ murders and make them fight to the death Hunger Games style, in an arena surrounded by a hundred miles of concrete with electrified razor wire up top for added security. The secret bit is that the last man standing faces the firing squad anyway.

What point would be to imprison them when they could be removed from society

Crap messed up there hold on
What's the point of keeping mentally handicapped children? They just feast on our resources and do not contribute. Shall we remove them too?

EDIT: What about someone who is not guilty or in prison for a minor crime. Should they be removed?

It's a punishment. It serves a dual role, but I'm pretty sure dead people don't do much harm, either.

They might have killed innocent people, but will condemning them bring your loved ones or something of significance back? Is the temporary satisfaction of condemning them really worth it?
I don't think it's about personal satisfaction whatsoever.

Yeah I know. I took a wrong turn in my argument, but what about  someone who is not guilty or in prison for a minor crime. Should they be removed?

Um, no, I don't think someone should be executed without incredibly clear proof of guilt, and a very serious crime.

What if they escape the area, and commit more murders?
Why are they not at a maximum security prison in the first place?

I don't think it's about personal satisfaction whatsoever.
Then why condemn them?

When were mentally handicapped people a danger
Executing only happens for major crimes like murder

And Texas rules

Then why condemn them?
Putting them in jail permanently is pretty much the same thing

but way slower

Then why condemn them?
I was gonna answer you, but Maxwell did it for me.
I honestly would rather die immediately than spend many years in prison.

Either way, they are both secluded from society, at least they have the ability to live in prison.

Perhaps it should be optional?

Being an option gets rid of half it's point
