My dad is always trying to get me to do stuff away from my computer, he thinks i'm addicted to it.

Does he want you to go traveling, instead?

If you're on it 22 hours out of the day then yes there is something wrong with spending a lot of time playing video games.

For some reason when I went to this thread it went to the second page and I thought Fawkes was the OP and i didnt even notice the first page.

Wait, did you say Couer d'Alene, like, in Idaho? My family owns a house there, I go to live there during the Summer time.

Yes, spend more time in the real world.
It's good for you.

my mom blames everything on the computer.

I still eat, and talk with my parents, but they think i put my life into the computer.
i take showers, eat, and all that stuff and my parents start bitching on how i spend too much time on the comp.
Well when you lose contact with your irl friends, the comp is what keeps you sane for the most part. When I was 13, I was hitting 12-14 hours a day on Blockland, Runescape, and Roblox. This isn't even counting 3-5 hours of youtube vids.

Yeah, I had 0 friends that were still, or wanted to be, in contact with me. Nowadays, i'm only on for about 5 hours then I go build something or talk on the phone with HITNOKAT. Or I just go to sleep. :/

Lies!
It's a dangerous world outside of your room.

My parents coped with the fact that i spend a lot of time on my computer. All my friends are very wealthy and leave town a lot so i'm left with my online buddies to keep me company.

My parents happen to know a lot of my best skype pals because we talk so much.

One of them being Toothed_Deer. :)

Hey it's me

Your useless squares of parents don't understand quite enough that young society is changing

This. People who spend all day watching TV don't get this stuff. Probably because video games are a new medium and people are afraid of change.

Pretty much. We'll be criticizing our kids for whatever new medium comes about

Or anything new for that matter.

"BACK IN MY DAY, WE HAD TO USE CONTROLLERS, NONE OF THIS VIRTUAL REALITY stuff"

You shouldn't pick online friends over real life friends.

Because arguing with your parents makes you "Tough." I prefer to listen to my parents, unless its off the charts ridiculous. Plus they signed me up for drivers ed the day before, so I owe them.
There have been studies that show arguing with your parents longer and more convincingly can help you resist peer pressure.
