I got this pc im using for 700 and just threw in a an ati 5750. You can get these cards for around 75 dollars. I can run Arma 2 on Max settings.

My PC is $500 and I'm sure I could run BF3 smoothly.
Especially running PC BF3 with PS3's graphic settings.

My 500ish dollar PC can easily run BF3 better than your console can. I personally hate controllers as an input device anyway.
