Author Topic: Internet providers to begin warning customers who pirate content  (Read 2723 times)

I was comparing being arrested for piracy to being arrested for something trivial and victimless
Are you stupid

Your opinion on whether it is trivial and/or victimless is irrelevant. It is against the law, end of story. It's not my fault if you are too thick to understand that concept.

everyone i know is going to jail :(

It doesn't work like that as far as I know bro.

Lowing the wages of those people who spend their entire lives making entertainment for you == immoral.

Lets imagine that the executives of a business aren't the most terrible people in the world, and will cut their salary along with everyone else's when the business loses money. Well, the CEO still makes 7+ figures and you haven't harmed him at all really, even if he makes 30% less. But all of the people who work for him also take a huge pay cut. Now they decide that they will stop making games and get into the more profitable industry of making piracy prevention software. You haven't hurt the big bad CEO at all, but all the people who are trying to make the world fun give up.

against the law = against the law

You're really reaching to justify your need to break the law.

What if I wouldn't pay for it if piracy wasnt an option?

More like I have no better use of my time than arguing this stance

You paid for Blockland. I would imagine that the majority of pirates would pay for a game they like if piracy wasn't an option.

Wait
>Software
Does this mean its okay to talk about pirating music and movies?
No

But you cant talk about directly pirating software yourself. No one has been banned for talking about Copyright acts and such.

Blockland is only 20 dollars :c

i know the magic solution to reduce piracy:

add a loving demo into your games.

i bet a lot of you guys wouldn't be here if it weren't for the demo of blockland.

and I am comcast forget. Anyway I heard they have been doing this for a long time but now released it.

Yep. Even with gameplay videos, I won't bother until I experience the game myself.
