so i'll get straight to the point: i loving hate high school, i see it as a waste of time. i doubt some of my teachers even know my name. i'm pretty sure the only reason i wake up to go is to see my friends. also i'm a sophomore

recently i've been discussing with my mom about finishing the year off and going straight to community college with a GED, then transferring to UCSB.
I'm 16 right now, and it seems perfect how i'd get out of college while i'm still young.

do you guys think this is a good idea?

stick it in your teachers' pooper

If you can finish your education early, it's generally a good thing.

Yeah, i'd be out of college at 20.

Fap in the bathroom until you get caught

It seems like an awful idea. You think teachers in college care more about you then high school. You're gonna hate college if that's the case. It sounds like you just can't handle school.

So YOU were the one telling people at my school to do that.

Na, that's not really the reason. It's just that i'd rather get it over with faster/study what i actually need to.

Though I've always heard good stories about transferring into colleges, it's generally easier to get accepted and still looks the same.

you're gonna have some hardcore social issues being around a bunch of students who are older than you

to be fair the age margin isn't really that big, but still.

well the community college is like 10 minutes from my house, i'd still see all my friends

Getting past the whole social thing and stuff, I don't see a problem with it. If it's your choice to get your GED and finish highschool, then go to a community college and transfer as an undergrad, then do it. I personally know 2 close friends who have done that, though they did it as Juniors at 16 and 17 respectively. It was much easier for them to get a job at that age, where as you might have a problem (if you even need one).

Believe it or not, even though you'd probably fair well in the real world, until you're eighteen, the government sends children to school to avoid parents enforcing manual labor upon their children, it sounds horrid, but some parents might do it if they didn't.

Unless they drop out or get a GED...... and he said he is discussing this with his mom so clearly he can legally do it with her consent. However, I thought you had to be 17.

So YOU were the one telling people at my school to do that.
