safari just looks goddamn ugly

They both literally do the same thing. They both have the same search bars, the tabs work the same, and the speeds are both basically tradoffs by a milisecond. The only way i could imagine chrome might have some kind of leg up is in special web stuff, and if you're using specialized website code and not including the alternates for other browsers you're a prick and you shouldn't be making websites.

keyword here, sure they can both do the job, but again, safari just looks absolutely loving terrible to chrome

i literally cannot use safari at all. the top bar or whatever the hell it's called is incredibly cluttered and takes up way more webpage space than chrome. the silver look of it doesn't help either - they definitely tried to make it look nice, shiny and to pop out, but it's fallen within the uncanny valley between simplicity and complexity.

i don't know where this came from, but i don't do this. i try to support other browsers, and since safari and chrome both use webkit, they're usually under the same umbrella of html5/javascript support and features.

if you like customization, add-ons, tab and bookmark syncing, and more for your mac go for chrome, but delete the old versions of it after updating to a new version

if you just want a web browser that works on your mac, safari.
