Author Topic: Looking for a graphics card that is decent and kinda cheap  (Read 3152 times)

why are you so poor lol

OT: look at some of the cards in the gtx 500 series. they might work.

I'm not poor lol. I just have some other things that I need to save up for too.

Plus I'm not a really heavy gamer. My original budget for a PC was about $1000 until I saw what my mom had hidden in her closet.

Anddd she told me about her getting an iMac soon, and she said she'd get rid of her old computers unless we wanted them.

And plus, I'm already going to be spending $200 on quad processors from newegg.com.

IIRC this ran Blockland pre-v21 at ~250 FPS, even with a Pentium 4.

The 9800GT might really suck with today's standards but it is worth the $70.

Also remember, when I mean DECENT FPS, I mean FPS that is playable. 15-20. If higher than yeahhh

Um, 15-20 fps is neither decent nor playable.

Well, I call that decent cause my FPS on Blockland settings on max (except shadows) and with like 40k bricks I get 8 fps lol

asdf ok 40 fps is decent then?

if I was getting 15-20 FPS I'd wonder wtf was wrong with my computer ..

Probably your best bet:

You need an ivy bridge cpu to use pcie 3.0 cards to their full power
wait im stupid he has one

My Nvidia GeForce GT 620 supports shaders on max settings with NO LAG and no decrease in Blockland FPS performance.

50 dollars.

I can actually run a lot of games on high settings with this card. Fallout 3, new vegas, blockland, DayZ, Half Life 2, APB reloaded, portal, tf2, etc.

Pretty sure this is over the expectation you were looking for and with a much lower price.

But that card is a piece of stuff. He has $100 to spend, so he might as well utilize it.

He could SLI two of them. I don't know if that's an option on the lower end cards, thought.

Not even worth it. The 7750 has more than 3 times the performance, and with twice the value.
