Author Topic: SetRandomAppearance - Zombie City/Space  (Read 864 times)

So trying out the new bots, I was glad to see there are two random appearance settings for the output, City and Space - allowing the bots to take on an avatar to match their setting. Then we have the Zombie Holes, who sport the Blockhead avatar with a sick-green skin color and asciiTerror face - "The Original Blockhead Zombie" outfit.

Though, I was surprised to see there aren't events for the zombies. Eventing them to get a random appearance from the city or space theme keeps their Zombie AI, but removes the skin color and face since the random appearance overwrites it. Would it be possible for someone to release an extra event pack that uses an edited version of the city and space appearance codes, but instead of this and this:
Code: [Select]
%skinColor = getRandomBotSkinColor();
Code: [Select]
%face = getRandomBotFace();It's changed to this:
Code: [Select]
%skinColor = "0.626 0.71 0.453 1";
Code: [Select]
%face = "asciiTerror";
Basically, it still retains the default city and space clothing options, but the only change is the skin color and face to give that zombified look. It would add two extra output options "City - Zombie" and "Space - Zombie."

Personally I think it would be easier if instead of making entire different holes for zombies and such, if there were events to make them. A zombie set of appearances, like you're talking about, and then a zombie set of movement output events.

And it kinda irritates me that there isn't any event to make bots follow players :I

I usually just have a bunch of random unarmed pedestrian bots and one zombie. The zombie kills the pedestrian and their appearance becomes a zombie.

Yeah, but wouldn't it just be much easier to start them out with civilian clothes instead of waiting for all the civilians to become infected? Someone could always kill those first few zombies before everyone has turned.
