OK let's be frank here. From the sounds of it, you're parents don't exactly know what they're doing. I imagine they haven't known since your brother was born. They probably feel like they've failed as parents once by letting him do what he wants, and they don't want to fail again, even if it means military Sergent parents.
Not only that but after not being listened to for years by your brother, and let's be honest, you too, they're probably sick and tired of it. Even if they're yelling at you for something really small like not throwing your soda can away, it all adds up, and has added up for years.
Be the better person, they're probably fired from all they've gone through as parents. It's not fair to you, I know, but if you just be the better person and try to listen to them and be a good son, they'll cool off and probably be better parents too. Trust me, it's much better to be friends with your parents than enemies. The only people I have
ever heard say that their parents yell at them a lot and without good reason are people who tend to disrespect their parents and are disobedient. If you just listen a bit more, you're parents will leave you be more.
I should really count my blessings.
To be honest, you should. Every one of those things you listed, you should be thankful for.
Yeah what you're going through is bad, but it isn't as bad as it could be, be thankful for that. There are people who have gone through and are going through way worse than you are. I'm not going to ignore what you've said and try to say what you're going through isn't bad, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be thankful.
