Author Topic: I need a good post-apocalyptic book  (Read 1310 times)

I was on the website for my schools library and they don't have Metro 2033 so I need a different book.
suggestions please

Truesight and the roar. Both are sort of after some terrible conflict, martial law to some degree, main character revolts against it.

Sorry I don't read zombie-type books.

the road
the road
the goddamn road

not only is it amazingly written, it's really beautiful. i would recommend it tenfold

i'll look into The Road

Here
while it's true i could've googled it, that gives me a much more broader choice. i'd also like to hear what any forumers would say.

A boy and his dog
Cloud atlas <- I'm reaching with this one but the post-apocalyptic section is really good
On the Beach <- if you want a good depression
A Canticle for Leibowitz <- Adeptus Mechanicus; the book!
The Postman
I Am Legend
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream

That one fallout novel that tells the events leading up to New Vegas.
Halo: Contact Harvest could count depending on how you look at it.

A Boy and His Dog, but it's a bit disturbing.

The Giver is pretty good too, as is World War Z.

Jesus christ the giver was one of the worst books I've ever read.

I concur

If you want a good horror/near-apocalypse book, read the Shadow over Innsmouth of any other HP Lovecraft stories.

I want to read Roadside Picnic.
