Author Topic: THIRD PERSON IRONSIGHTS!  (Read 2534 times)

So basically this is my Over the Shoulder player with a couple values changed.

So you're basically telling me to leave myself completely vulnerable whenever I want to get an actually good view?

Real smooth.

Christ, at least it's a step in the right direction.

I'm willing to bet that someone could whip up an edited version using the same camera positions where when you hold down the jet button (I forget what the function is called) it switches to the ironsights view, instead of having to equip a weapon to do so.

You're welcome to try this mod out on my server.

When you look up or down, does it mess it up in anyway?

okay so you moved the camera a bit - congratulations

Crosshairs are impossible, there is no way to get a crosshair for this.

no

How does it look with the rocket launcher?

no

X and Y values change when in third person. When looking up, the crosshair would have to literally move up with you. Which if you knew anything it's impossible with this game, don't tell me no. If it were so simple to implement a third-person crosshair by your expression of the word "no" this would had been done already years ago.

Blockland has been around for over 4 years now and no one until now up to this point have thought to try this. People like you slow down progress that you put judgement on a mod you never even tried.

Simply put, try it or go away. You have no opinion on a mod you never even tried.

No. Looking up and down stays consistent.

Actually that's not a bad idea.

How does it look with the rocket launcher?

It sucks. I recommended using the RPG or something smaller. The RPG at least has a centered scope on top and is much skinnier.

The camera zooms out if you remove your weapon though.

This is great for zombie survival though, makes everything more intense.

I didn't make it. I'm just testing it.

Oooh, well that makes it way better.
Hata does good work.

Do you want a minigame that has a functional third person view or are you just going to loving bitch? Crosshairs are impossible, there is no way to get a crosshair for this.

Can't you loving read? I'm suggesting a further zoom while you have a weapon active, not a loving crosshair.

Oh okay. I thought you were acting like Port for a second. I misread what you said wrong. Sorry.

Yeah all this is possible. I've already made a further zoom in function.

Please give me one valid reason for why moving a simple image is impossible in this game.

Script it yourself and find out. I don't have time for your loving bullstuff. I don't care if you can't script either. Learn how to script or whine to the 40 other scripters on the forum to mod you a "moving simple image."

Actually when you didn't answer at first I went and whipped up my own and tested it myself. Kinda cool trying to aim with the 3D model instead of a crosshair. Dunno how the novelty would hold up in a DM since it's definitely easier to just go into first person to aim while using third person to inspect surroundings. I, however, couldn't find how to easily fix the misalignment when looking up or down so if you got that to work, it might be pretty fun to try playing with. I can't judge yours based on mine.

Real big problem I see is the rocket launcher thing, in a more general sense - not all guns will work with this properly, so you'll definitely want the toggle Awdax suggested.

Yeah, try coding it and see if the new location of the crosshair is accurate with where the bullet goes. Please.

How about some lasersights then with the press of R2. Oh and they are deadly accurate. Don't mind the camera angle I was holding Z.

Port if you have anything else to bitch about please let me know.
