I have Windows and Mac OSX.
I prefer Mac OS for school work, and creating simple school projects.

However, I prefer windows for my 3D Modeling, Unity, Games, Programming, and all that jazz. 
So all in all, I would choose Mac OS for school, and Windows OS for everything else.

i only use windows because compatibility.

i like to think about it this way:

i could use directx for rendering and only be able to release my games on windows/xbox, besides, everyone's using it. or i could use openGL for rendering and be able to release my games on pretty much everything, while at the same time being technologically ahead of directx.

Chromebook, chromeOS. It's such a small fraction of the market that it shouldn't really be counted though.
