You can't use the BLF as a proper source as it is all of peoples opinions and you need multiple sources, not just one. You need actual facts and evidence to support your thesis.

Apple bases it's prices on the market. People buy apple products to flaunt their wealth and their "superior" technology. This is done by having a single idea and then adding improvements shortly after. The iPhone 5 concept with the larger screen and all was most likely designed as the same time as the 1st gen. This is so they can milk money and for the customers to brag about their better model. "Mine is 0.32g ligher, I win!"

tl;dr Apple has the advantage of getting lots of money because their market is kids who flaunt their wealth
