Author Topic: || KAZEHIME WIP ||-Japanese Floating City  (Read 2289 times)

okay, so about a week or so ago i made this little doodle of a floating city(i was considerably hyped for infinite) and it had this japanese feel to it, and i realized that i really wanted to build it. I wanted to construct this picture in a 3D space so that i could really feel it more than just imagine it, and after seeing just how much dedication people have put into builds recently, especially from Cohort, i feel like this is my dream build. I have a problem of losing motivation to build things but i really do want to have motivation to try and build it, so that's why im posting this thread, to see what you guys think and your opinions and such

here's the doodle

i realize there are some little irks, like
  • i'm not entirely postitive those lamps are japanese, they may be chinese, and the symbol on them is chinese because when i was little i was watching sagwa and they showed this chinese symbol for "rain" and it always stuck in my head
  • the architecture is pretty psuedo-japanese, it's more just like what i imagined and drew it and though "hey it's sorta japanese". i'll definitely try to refine it
  • it's supposed to be low income housing which is why it looks very rickety
  • that blockhead isn't really to scale
  • not too sure on that pagoda on the top, it's all subject to change
etc.

so, i built one of the units,  it's the one directly above the blockhead

and this is how i imagine the units would be laid out

each colored block is a different unit, all sort of piled on top of eachother, so it's sort of like terraining with houses. some are bigger than others and differently shaped so it looks varied.

now, the underbelly of this city thing is going to looks sort of like the underbelly of NWB's floating city Marzipan city, i believe it was called. I can't seem to find any pictures but i remember it looking very messy mechanical which is what i'm going for.

now i know this thread seems kinda weird because it's very natal, yes, but i'm just posting to see what you guys think, and hey if you want to help that's fine by me. hopefully i'll finally build something worthwhile :]

[ps colorset is jirue's but faded, my favorite xooxo]

here's an example of "terraning with houses" with my WIP

the stacking of houses will create a messy curve

Your doodle is better than anything else I've ever drawn in my life. I'm excited to see more.

If you can pull this off with default bricks, I'd like to see it included in the game.

it's Marzipaan. I should know since I got a save of it from Endgame.

This sounds amazing, don't give up.
You could make something really cool with it.

This is amazing. I can't wait to see where you take it! :O

Who said it was finished? I was in NWB and as far as I know it was never completed. If it was I really want to see it lol

To be honest, You have kind of inspired me. I am building a floating island too but not like yours. Mine is just more of a landscape rather than a lot of Japanese Architecture. I do love your artwork though.
