Does resetting a router affect any of the following things?

Going to be resetting my router tonight when everyone is asleep, so I don't have them notice, anyway, will the reset affect the following things?
-TV cable box
-AT&T phone service
That's all I need to know that reset, because I have to reset it to get into it, due to my father not knowing the username to it or password.
Also might fix UPnP problems in Blockland.
Anyway, what would it affect, I have a Xfinity Arris TG862.
Here are some other questions.
When I reset it, will I have to have everyone reconnect?
How long do I hold down the reset button, and what is the proper procedure?

unplugging it (or power button) dosnt do anything cept a nice reset.

the little pinhole reset button might reset the pw, port settings, i dunno.

I have to do a hard reset.

All the reset will do is reset router settings back to default, which you probably have most thing already at.

when you reset it. please dont be one of those douchebags who changes the actual router pw from the defaults.

there is only 1 purpose to doing this, and its to keep roomates with knowledge of how to use a router from port forwarding or checking devices, or whatever.
basically if you cant trust the people you live with to view the very little not so useful info in the router, then you are living with the wrong people.

though a hard reset would change the wifi password. everyone in the house who connects wirelessly wont be happy in the morning when they dont know the new one.

I do know it would change the wifi pass.
But I can change it back to what it was, anyway, will it change the login for logging into the router?

the login to the router itself should already be the default. but yeah it will go back to default anyways.

yeah you can change the wifi pw back to whatever it was again, but those wireless uses will still have to "set up" and retype it again when they get the popup.
a smart person would at least retry the old one before saying anything. but some may not and run to the modem to see wtf lol

Anyway, it seems that there is a thing called "Cable" on the router, does that control TV services like cable boxes?
